Software Selection and Procurement

We can find the best off-the-shelf software solution, following a tried and tested software selection methodology.

Software requirements

We will work with you to prepare a software requirements analysis and document. This includes distinguishing between essential requirements and preferred requirements. This is an important stage that enables software solutions to be quickly evaluated.

Software research and options analysis

We then research the market and prepare a shortlist of possible software solutions and vendors. Typically, we will shortlist between 3 and 5 options for detailed evaluation and to prepare a detailed options analysis on.

Software demonstrations and trials

Where possible, we will work with the vendor to prepare demonstrations or free trials. This is an important stage of really testing the vendor and software solution to see whether it will meet our client requirements in practice.

Software recommendation

We then prepare an options analysis document that outlines the pros and cons, one-off costs, ongoing costs, support, maintenance and implementation duration of each option. We then make a recommendation based on an understanding of our client requirements, budget and resource constraints.

Software procurement

In some cases, it is possible to negotiate the contracts with the software vendor. We are able advise on the commercial terms clause by clause of the contract to try and get the best deal in place for our clients. Contracts can take the form of license contracts, service level agreements, maintenance contracts and implementation contracts.
